Part of the hot food line at Andamiro.
Quick verdict
Andamiro, the breakfast buffet at Dyne Oceano Hotel (다인오세아노 호텔, also romanized Dain Oceano) in Aewol, is smaller than a big luxury-hotel buffet, but every section we tried was consistently good, from Jeju-style Korean dishes to the Western bakery and a live egg station. If you stay two nights or more, we recommend including breakfast for at least one morning.

Why we ate breakfast at the hotel this time
This was the last morning of my partner’s and my 2-night, 3-day trip to Jeju. On past Jeju trips, my usual pattern was to check out early and go queue at a famous local restaurant or haejangguk (hangover soup) place. Jeju has so much good food that I never felt a need to eat breakfast inside the hotel.
This trip’s theme, though, was slowing down and resting. Our stay in the Suite Ocean room had been so satisfying that we felt sure the breakfast restaurant would match it. So we went down to Andamiro on the 1st floor, and it turned out to be a great way to end the trip.
The buffet space and service: compact, calm and well staffed
My first impression of Andamiro was that it was clean and uncluttered.
- Size: compared with the grand, banquet-hall-sized buffets at top luxury hotels, it can feel a bit small.
- Service: because the space is a manageable size, staff were placed where they were needed. Empty plates were cleared right away, and dishes running low were refilled in real time.
- Atmosphere: it was not hectic like a crowded market in the morning. It felt like being looked after in a calm, orderly room.
- Menu range: there are not a huge number of dishes, but there is not too little either. The line-up sticks to items that suit breakfast.
What’s on the buffet: Jeju Korean dishes and Western breakfast
Many hotel breakfasts stop at scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. Andamiro works Jeju’s local character into the menu.
Korean section
- Jeonbokjuk (abalone porridge) made with a Jeju specialty
- Gosari yukgaejang (spicy beef soup with bracken), with a spicy, deep flavor
- Bulgogi, and hot soups suited to breakfast

Western section
I am a hardcore bread-and-pasta person. In my experience, Jeju hotel buffets that focus on local Korean food often have weaker Western bakery and hot dishes. At Andamiro, the Western section was also surprisingly good.
- Crisp bacon and soft scrambled eggs
- Salads, cheeses and bakery items that were fresher than we expected
- Live egg station: at one side, a chef keeps frying eggs to order. That freshly cooked egg lifted the whole meal.
The bakery corner.
My partner, who is firmly a Korean-food person, filled a plate with bulgogi and abalone porridge. I went American style. The biggest point I want to make is that taste did not drop off from one section to another. Everything was at the same high level.
To finish: fruit, desserts and a hot morning coffee.

Is hotel breakfast worth it in Jeju? Our take
Sitting in the restaurant with the Jeju morning sun coming through the windows, I was glad we had not driven out early in the rental car to find a breakfast spot. We saved the travel time and the tiredness of waiting in line, ate well, and then got ready for checkout without rushing. That raised the quality of the whole trip.
The good breakfast also fully cured my hangover from the drinks we had at Namttori the night before. It broke my old assumption that hotel breakfast is not worth it in Jeju.
My plate: eggs and salad, the breakfast basics.
